Wow I haven't posted in a while, I got caught up with crocheting, work, and being outside because it's been so nice! So here's a quick blurb about the books that I've finished reading since my last post!
I joined a book club at the library which is an "Around the World Book Club" so we read books set in different countries and I think by authors from different countries. This is only going to be my second meeting. This month's book was "Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood" by Marjane Satrapi. It's about a girl living in Iran during the war. It's actually a biography of Marjane Satrapi written in a graphic novel form. So this was a first for me on a lot of levels. I really enjoyed the book, it was set in a time period when I was either not yet alive or very young, so while I know that there has been a lot going on in the middle east, I've never really been sure what. It ended abruptly and I wanted to know what happened to her so I read "Persepolis Two: The Story of a Return" which deals with her teenage and young adult life. It was really fascinating to learn about her and her life.
Then I read "Fever" by Lauren DeStefano which is the second book in her "Chemical Garden" series. She's a local author, from New Haven CT which makes me enjoy her even more. I loved the first book "Wither" and this one was just as good. It was about Rhine's escape and search for her brother. I can't wait for the third one to come out so we can find out if she finds her brother before she dies.
Finally I read "Something from the Nightside" by Simon R. Green. A few weeks ago I was calling the holds at work and one of his books "And the Bride wore Leather" had arrived for someone. I had never heard of him, but the book title seemed interesting so I went on goodreads.com to find out more about the Nightside series. I thought it would be something I would be interested in and so I put a hold on the first book. It was really good. I wasn't sure exactly what was going on at some parts, but the characters were really enjoyable, very well described, and well rounded. I have ordered the next two books in the Nightside series, I think there are like 14 so I'm a little behind. It was a really quick read though it only took me two or three days to finish because I was so interested in what was going on. I hope they all stay like that.
So I just started reading "Everneath" by Brodi Ashton. I'm only on page 109 but so far it's really good. I like how it's bouncing back and forth in time to tell the story instead of just being in chronological order like most books. I'm hoping to finish it quickly because according to my goodreads.com goal of 110 books this year I'm 2 books behind. I finished my goal last year of 100 books around September so I have to start reading more!
Some book related links I enjoy...

After by Amy Efaw and Choker by Elizabeth Woods
Hey everyone! Okay so it's a miracle and I finished two books - So I'm going to comment about both of them in this post rather than making two different ones.
After by Amy Efaw -
This book was about a young woman who became pregnant after having sex once. She then somehow convinced herself that she was still a virgin and thus couldn't be pregnant. She ends up in a juvenile detention center, but at the end she does the right thing and takes the punishment that is going to be given to her. The book was very good, I felt bad for the character because she seemed so confused, but I suppose that some people can convince themselves of anything.
Choker by Elizabeth Woods -
This book was AMAZING! I picked it up one day because someone had checked it in at the library - All I am going to say about this book is that you have to go get it and read it because it was the best book I've read this year! The writing was great, the characters were well developed and the ending was just fantastic!
Currently I am reading Wither the second book in the Chemical Garden series by Lauren Destefano. So far it's very good, I was concerned since the first one was so good I might not like the second but that is not Turing out to be the case!
